INTERDITION – GROUP INTERVIEW
In today’s world, it is becoming more difficult to find and hire the right person for our job(s) – one who will do the job well, be enthusiastic about the job, show up on time, not call in constantly to ask for time off for personal reasons, is guest service oriented with the customers, and is well-mannered with all age groups of team members and customers. It is frustrating to deal with the revolving door of employees that not only costs us money, but also lowers the morale of the current workforce in our business.
There are three major problems for the employer:
1. Attracting the right person
2. Screening the candidates to know you have found the right person for the job
3. Keeping the great employees once we are fortunate enough to hire them
The Group interview, “Casting Call” or
“INTERDITION”
is a process that will allow you to “see” the traits that are necessary for great employees to possess and are very difficult, or almost impossible, to observe in a sit-down interview style of hiring. It is very orchestrated so that the necessary traits can be observed by the Managers who are looking for them.
Though this is a very fun, interactive event, it is still designed to give the Management the ability to observe the applicants reactions to certain stimulus in a “test” environment. It is imperative that the Managers do not get caught up in the fun, but rather stay focused on observing each and every candidate for traits throughout the entire group interview – including the initial entrance to the group interview, breaks, group interaction and the closing thank you’s before leaving the room.
